TREASURER: Scott Leonard
FESTIVAL DIRECTOR: Scott Caul
THIS MONTH'S MEETING
The Heart of the Valley Homebrew Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month, alternating between Corvallis and Albany. In lieu of the August meeting, our club will hold its annual summer picnic on Sunday, August 21, from noon to 6pm at the Thompson Shelter in Avery Park, Corvallis.
Family (including children) and friends/guests are welcome; please let mare
(email@example.com) know how many will be attending if you plan to come. Also, please remember that the picnic is a potluck. The club will provide whiskey barrel-smoked turkey, but side dishes, appetizers, salads, and desserts are up to the membership. Games for young and old are in the works. A round of pre-picnic golf is also on the agenda. See article below for details.
Directions: Take 99W South through downtown Corvallis toward Eugene. Continue under the overpass. At the next traffic light, make a right on Avery Avenue. Go straight at the 4-way stop. Thompson Shelter is down the road on the right. There is plenty of parking space available.

No words of wisdom from our president this month.
Just show up at the picnic.
PRE-PICNIC HOTV HACKERS GOLF TOURNAMENT
Contact Scott Caul (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you'd like to join us in a rollicking game of golf before the picnic. The course of choice this year is Marysville, due to its proximity to the Avery Park picnic site. No previous golfing experience is required. Some extra sets of clubs can be rented for a huge fee from Scott. It may also be advisable to wear protective gear if John Sterner is in the group.
LAST MONTH'S MEETING
Last month's meeting was hosted by Scott Leonard at his home (new addition is complete and really nice) in Corvallis. A long drawn-out business meeting covered the merits of establishing a festival director now, for optimal planning for next year. Scott Caul volunteered for the job and was unanimously elected because nobody else had had as many electric shock waves pass thru their brains as him. Picnic assignments and golf plans for August 21st were also discussed at length. Several members intended on entering beers in the State Fair. Paul Jorgenson will make the delivery to the Salem fairgrounds, as there is no local drop-off location.

HOTV CLUB EQUIPMENT
Our club has brew gear that is available for members to use. All of the items reside at Corvallis Brewing Supply. There is a one week check out limit unless pre-arranged with the equipment dude...that would be me.
by Joel Rea
If you have a piece of equipment that is collecting dust and you would like to donate it to the club please let me know.
- RIMS (Recirculating Infusion Mash System) Due to the tenacity of this piece of equipment I would strongly suggest that you have a training brew session with someone who has experience in using it. Scott Caul has in the past been gracious to hold open house brewing sessions with this fine piece (of equipment) usually several times of the year.
