The Biological Sciences Major, which is offered jointly by the Biology and the Botany departments, provides diverse research opportunities and close student-faculty interactions that are designed to give students progressively more intensive experiences in research as they move through their course of study.
Students choose a general program in biology, an ecology concentration, or a cell and molecular concentration.

for the Biological Sciences Major, click here. We encourage our students to engage in a research project with a faculty mentor before they complete their undergraduate program. As a result, many of our students publish papers with faculty in peer-reviewed journals and present the results of their research at regional or national research conferences. Students graduating with a degree in any of our majors are prepared to attend graduate school in any biological sciences field or professional school (medical, dental or veterinary), or immediately to enter the job market in science-related fields. Also the Botany department offers a separate major in botany. | |||||
