The Heart of the Valley Homebrewers has decided to separate the Homebrew Competition and Microbrew Festival, previously held on the same date. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but running both at the same time was getting bigger than we could handle. The homebrew competition will be help on May 17th while current plans call for the Microbrew Festival to be held sometime in Sept. AHA and BJCP Sanctioned Competition
Judging the 28 2004 Recognized BJCP Beer, Mead and Cider Styles. Preliminary judging and judge training session Friday, May 16, 2008 7-10 PM. Main Judging starts Saturday May 17, 2008 at 9:30 AM.

This year's competition will be at the Calapooia Brewing Co. 140 Hill St. NE Albany, OR 97321

First Time Entry Competition
If you are a first timer to homebrew competitions be sure to check off the first timer entry box on the entry form. Along with our regular homebrew competition judging we are also honoring and welcoming newcomers to homebrew competitions with an additional competition between the first timers. Your entry will still be judged in the main competition, which is a great way to receive constructive feedback, but you get the added bonus of competing with your newcomer peers and be judged for best first time entry award all for the same entry fee.
